Local Insight
Atlantic Business
Continuity Services (ABCS) is a division of KFR Services,
Inc., a women-owned, family-owned small business operating
since 1975. Ten years ago, we made Summerville our company
home and we continue to enjoy the many benefits of
Lowcountry-life today.
Because we wanted to
protect the investments our team has made in growing our
company, we set out to find help developing our own business
continuity plan. What we found was that most experts only
offered technology specific services or targeted large
corporations. What we needed was a partner who understood
small business operations in a unique coastal area, and
someone who had more than a financial stake in the success
of our plan. What we wanted was a company that was nearby,
easy to reach and familiar with our community. Dissatisfied
with the available services, we developed our own expertise.
Local Connections
ABCS owners and staff live
in the tri-county and are patrons of area businesses. Our
team members volunteer their time in the community and
support local charities, schools and interests. As active
community members, we realize the impact of local business
disruptions. As neighbors and business owners, we
understand a company's ability to quickly recover from
interruptions is fundamental. As planners, our goal is to
use our local expertise to ensure we provide the best
continuity preparations possible so that local operations
are able to resume as quickly as possible in the event of a
disruption.
Local
expertise
ABCS's planner
is certified through Disaster Recovery Institute
International. We sit on the ThinkTEC Business Continuity
Planning Council, a division of the Charleston Metro Chamber
of Commerce that assists area businesses in preventing,
protecting and recovering from disasters. And, we sponsor
the Contingency Planning Association of the Carolinas
(CPAC), an organization of professional contingency planners
who exchange information and resources with business
communities and local, state and federal government agencies
in North and South Carolina.
